High Performance Driving Course
Introduction
For the first time in Australia, two organisations have combined knowledge, expertise and experience to develop a Performance Driving Course at a world-class level.
The Australian Driving Institute provides the training expertise and Manta Racing provides the technical support. The combined experience includes; Professional driving for the London to Sydney Marathon, Classic Adelaide, Formula Holden, GTP (including the Bathurst 24 hour) and over 200 films and videos for television commercials. Professionals in vehicle preparation including Formula Holden, GTP and performance enhancements. We are also professional driver trainers for the Clipsal 500 Celebrity Race.
The ADI was given only two days to get all the celebrities an actual racing licence and the rules could not be bent for anyone, even Dawn Fraser!
What You Learn
The course goes for one day, 8:30am to 5:00pm. The day is a combination of theory, practice and lapping. We also have strict standards to follow so the day remains safe for you and mechanically sound for your car. we show you how to best warm up and cool off your car and all the great stuff in between!
You learn about car control at high speed and the effects of weight transfer, high speed braking (including trail braking and heel / toe technique), estimating degrees of adhesion limits, cornering technique and differentiating between Front, Rear and All Wheel Drive.
Want to drive in a TV commercial? You need a certificate to say you have successfully completed a driving course. Part of the day is dedicated to those who are interested and we teach basic tricks for film industry precision driving.
Attending the courses are specialists in brakes, suspensions, engine building, ECU mapping, gearbox mods and enhancements for street, race or rally.
All of this and we provide you with food and drinks all day. exciting and safe!
